Hi! I'm Ruchita, the Founder & Creative Director of Amar Kosa. I grew up in a place which is rich in art, culture and heritage, and from a young age design has captivated me. As a kid I was always fascinated seeing the ladies around me doing Lucknavi Chikankari embroidery.
I went to NIFT and then worked for several global apparel brands, but I always felt a void as I aspired to create designs that expressed my vision. I started Amar Kosa in 2019 to revive ancient techniques and bring them to a contemporary world. I work with a team of great artisans and tailors and use block printing, Shibori, Marbling and other techniques on high quality fabrics like vegan silk to create sustainable, timeless style apparel.
